    What are the benefits of online research?
    Online research offers greater access and a substantial time and cost savings over phone, in-person, and mail data collection methods. You can also more quickly receive results with online research.

    What sample sizes do you recommend?
    You can collect any desired sample size (based on costs and timing parameters). We recommend, however, that you use sample sizes of 1,000 to 1,500 due to the greater cost and timing efficiencies realized when using larger sample sizes. Additionally, larger sample sizes result in more robust datasets for analysis.

    Will the quality of graphics accurately represent my concept, product, or advertising?
    With the assistance of several major clients who extensively use graphics in their online research, SPSS has spent the past two years developing “best-in-class” graphic capabilities. We continue to invest in R&D in this area to ensure we maintain our high-quality standards. A caveat: graphics quality largely depends on the original image and the end-user’s equipment.

    What are some of the financial benefits that online surveys offer?
    Typically, savings can be up to 50 percent in online data collection versus traditional methods. Savings are in part because online surveys do not have the printing, mailing, interview, or data entry costs associated with telephone and paper surveys.

    How long does it take to conduct an online survey?
    As with all quantitative research, timing depends on many variables. Most projects, however, can be completed in less time than it takes to conduct phone, in-person, and mail studies.

    What software do you use to conduct online surveys?
    We use powerful survey tools based on SPSS Dimensions technology, a full-service platform that supports the entire survey research process. In particular, we use mrInterview, advanced software for online survey creation. mrInterview also gives you the ability to view your survey data in real time.

    Do you have the ability to conduct multilingual surveys?
    Yes. We can develop questionnaires incorporating more than one language—including Chinese, Japanese, and other double-byte languages.

    My survey is very long. Can respondents take a break and then return to complete the survey at a later time?
    Yes. Respondents can log off of a survey, log in again, and return to the survey at the exact page where they left off. This enables respondents to finish the survey at their leisure and helps improve completion rates.

    Yes. We currently offer discrete choice modeling, a type of conjoint analysis.

    Can we view the results of our survey as the responses come in? How much does this cost?
    Yes. Our online reporting tool, Survey Results, enables you to view survey data in real time through a secure Web site. This service is provided free of charge with Dimensions Service Bureau projects.

    Can we have some preliminary crosstabs? How much does this cost?
    You can run frequencies, filters, and crosstabs on survey data in real-time. We provide this service free of charge.

    Can I use my own sample?
    Yes. You may use your own sample or bring sample from another provider. Additionally, we have experience in working with a variety of sample providers and are able to assist you in your choice.

    Do you have an ASP?
    Yes. Dimensions ASP (application service provider) provides the infrastructure (directly or indirectly) and software for you to access through a browser-based connection.
