Q. I live in Europe. Can I order your products online?
A. We can accept your order via this Web store only if you are in the United States, Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In the UK you can place orders using the UK Store. For orders outside of this area, please contact your local SPSS office location.
Q. I would like to pay by credit card. What types of cards do you accept?
A. For orders in U.S. dollars, we accept American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa. For orders in Canadian dollars, we accept Discover, MasterCard and Visa. Regretfully, at this time, we are unable to accept Canadian orders with American Express.
Q. I would like to pay by check or purchase order. Can I do this?
A. All Web orders must be paid with a credit card. If you would like to pay by another method, you will have to contact our sales department.
Q. I have previously purchased a training subscription. Can I register for training online?
A. If you have a six- or 12-month training subscription, please contact our sales department at 1.800.543.2185, option 2 to register for available courses.
Q. The tax I was charged does not seem to be my regular state or county sales tax rate. Why is there a difference?
A. The tax you are charged is based on the products and services you purchased as well as the delivery type you chose. Depending on the tax laws in your state, you may be charged a different rate for physically-delivered items versus electronically-delivered items. In addition, some states charge a different rate for maintenance and training than for products. If you have any questions, please contact sales@spss.com and reference your order number in the email.
Q. My organization is tax exempt, how do I get the tax charge removed from my order?
A. At this time, we are unable to process tax exempt orders on the Web store. Please email your tax exempt ID number and/or a copy of your certificate to sales@spss.com. (An associate may call you to get a copy of your certificate if we don’t have one on file.) If you submit your order via the Web store, tax will be added. If you realize after you’ve submitted your order that you are tax-exempt, please send an e-mail to sales@spss.com.
Q. I don’t see all of the products you sell on your Web store. How do I purchase those products?
A. Currently, we only offer a selection of SPSS products via our Web store. To purchase other products, please contact our sales department for more information.
Q. I live in North America, but attend a college or university in another country. Can I receive the academic rate?
A. SPSS offers our academic pricing to degree granting institutions that are based in North America only. If you would like to purchase our software, please contact the local SPSS office in the country in which your institution is located. They may offer academic discounts. Your other option is to purchase our software via the Web store at the commercial rate.
Q. I think I’m eligible for academic pricing, but I’m not sure. Who is eligible for academic pricing?
A. To purchase from the higher education store, you must be employed with a degree granting institution (faculty or administration) where the institution is paying for the software, and it will be installed on that institution’s computer. If you are a student, please view our education section for options and purchase information.
Q. I am a student and just need SPSS for a short-term project. Is there a way I can rent your software?
A. If you are planning to use the software for student needs, you may go to www.journeyed.com and purchase the SPSS Graduate Pack, which is specifically designed and licensed for student use, or you can go to www.e-academy.com and rent the software for the duration of your course or project.
Q. How long before my product is shipped?
A. If you purchased software for electronic delivery (and did not receive an additional processing flag during order placement), you can download the software immediately after completing your transaction by following the “Download Now” link on your order confirmation page. Your authorization code will be sent to you in a separate email. Although we try to process all other Web orders within 24 hours of receiving them, orders received after 10 a.m. may ship the following business day. The shipping method you chose during checkout is an estimated time AFTER the package reaches FedEx. For urgent shipments, please call 1.800.543.2185, option 2, and one of the associates can let you know of your options.
Q. Can I have my product delivered on Saturday?
A. Unfortunately, we do not offer Saturday delivery for physically shipped items.
Q. Can I have my software delivered by the post office or private courier?
A. No. We ship all of our software via FedEx. At this time, we are unable to deliver to post office boxes.
Q. My order is being shipped to Canada, and my delivery fee is calculated at $125. Is this correct?
A. Yes. All books and physically-delivered software orders to Canada include a goods and services tax based on your province as well as a $125 importation fee. Training, electronically-delivered software, and other services are not charged import fees. If you think you have been charged this fee in error, please call 1.800.543.2185, option 2.
Q. What is electronic software delivery (ESD)?
A. SPSS now offers single user licenses of a number of our products as downloads. If you choose this option, you will not be charged shipping and handling fees. Taxes may apply depending on your state's tax laws for electronically downloaded purchases. Processing times for some of these orders may take up to 24 hours but orders placed before 10 a.m. Central time may be processed and sent the same day.
Q. When I placed my order, I wanted ESD. Now, I would like a CD. Can you ship one to me?
A. If you would like a physical copy of your software, please call 1.800.543.2185, option 2. There may be an additional charge for CDs. To avoid this charge, you may burn as many copies of the software as you would like to your own CD. (Please note: You will only be able to use as many copies as you licensed.)
Q. I’m having problems registering my SPSS product. Can you help?
A. Visit our registration page at: www.spss.com/registration/. The middle box on this page allows you to create a new registration for our Web site as well as register your products (the link at the bottom of that box). If you still encounter problems, please email registration@spss.com.
