IBM SPSS Data Collection Interviewer Server supports a three-tier architecture to ensure the customers can secure their environment as well as ensure a level of fault tolerance and system redundancy that is appropriate to their business needs. The requirements below detail a single machine installation, which includes system requirements appropriate to all three tiers as well as the requirements for each of the three tiers individually.

Single Machine Installation

Operating System and Software:
- A 32-bit or 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard or Enterprise Edition with Service Pack 2
- Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) 6.0 or later
- Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC) 2.8 or later (supplied)
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or 7.0
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 (supplied)
Hardware:
- Processor: Intel® Pentium®-class processor running at 1GHz or faster
- Memory: 512MB RAM minimum; more recommended
- Disk space: 200MB minimum
- Display: 1024 x 768 or higher-resolution graphics adaptor, supporting minimum 16-bit color quality
- CD-ROM drive for installation
Additional Software:

Note: Server applications are not supported on Vista®. Disk space requirements for the services are the total amounts that each service requires. There are 50MB of components shared among all services. Some components are shared among certain services, but not others. The disk space totals here include these shared components. Therefore, the total disk space required to install two or more services is usually less than the sum of the disk space required for installing the services individually.
