ShowCase InterLink saves your IT staff time while providing business users with more intuitive access to information they need. It integrates with JD Edwards enterprise resource planning (ERP) solutions in four main areas:

Security administration. ShowCase Warehouse Manager limits access to specific applications, both for individual users and groups of users. This saves your IT staff from having to set up and manage duplicate security systems.
Data dictionary. ShowCase Warehouse Manager limits access to specific applications, both for individual users and groups of users. This saves your IT staff from having to set up and manage duplicate security systems.
User-defined codes. The user-defined code (UDC) descriptions created in your JD Edwards solution are presented to users of ShowCase Query and Report Writer™ as column displays. This simplifies report creation and enables users to employ UDCs just as they would any other column heading. ShowCase InterLink also provides access to UDC descriptions when ShowCase Warehouse Builder is being used to build a data mart.
Library list environments. ShowCase InterLink retrieves library list environments that have been set up in your JD Edwards solution. If your organization maintains both a development and a production environment, you can perform full verification and testing of your JD Edwards environment in the development phase, and then move queries and reports into production without having to redefine them.

Supporting Security and Flexibility

With ShowCase InterLink, users or groups of users see only the information that your JD Edwards solution specifies. You can define additional security controls to further restrict ShowCase Suite users’ access to JD Edwards data, down to the row and column level.

Both World and EnterpriseOne enable you to re-configure systems and applications as business conditions or organizational structures change. ShowCase InterLink fully supports this flexibility.

SPSS offers deployment accelerators for the ShowCase Suite that enable you to develop data warehouses for financial and sales information more quickly and easily.

Deployment accelerators integrate with the features and functionality of leading ERP solutions. This enables your project team to deliver effective analysis capabilities quickly, leading to a higher return on investment (ROI) and greater profitability.

Deployment Accelerator features and techniques make it faster and easier for your organization to build your data mart or data warehouse. These features and techniques include:

Pre-defined reports and queries
Sets of pre-formatted, commonly used reports
Numerous pre-defined templates for creating forms or viewing information
The ability to automatically populate your account structure

Each deployment accelerator includes a sample relational database structure that guides and automates database development. Extraction rules, pre-mapped to JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne database structures, facilitate the automation.

Once the relational database is populated, another distribution set supports the population of a multidimensional ShowCase Essbase® application. Pre-defined data load rules are included, which can be modified or augmented to match your organization’s particular needs.

By using a deployment accelerator, you avoid the time-consuming task of re-defining your JD Edwards account structure in Essbase. The deployment accelerator software seeks out the account structures that have been defined in your JD Edwards solution and replicates them in your Essbase application. For companies with complex divisional structures and multiple account codes, being able to automate this process saves weeks of time at the outset, and also saves time whenever modifications are made to the account structure.
