CHICAGO, 03/05/02 —
The Business Intelligence division of SPSS Inc. (Nasdaq: SPSS) announced today that KXEN, a global analytic software company that provides powerful modeling technology for data mining professionals and business decision-makers, has become a member of the Clementine Plus Partner Program and will integrate the KXEN Analytical Framework with Clementine, SPSS Inc.’s market leading data mining workbench.
KXEN (Knowledge eXtraction ENgines), which is headquartered in San Francisco, with research and development offices in Paris, France, offers a state-of-the-art suite of predictive and descriptive modeling engines for scoring, classification and clustering, based on renowned mathematician Vladimir Vapnik's Statistical Learning Theory. The company partners with leading systems integrators and original equipment manufacturers to integrate analytic software components into enterprise applications and business processes.
“By integrating KXEN’s modeling engines, Clementine customers will have another option to use when applying predictive modeling to everyday business decisions,” says Peter Caron, SPSS senior product manager-data mining. “In particular, access to the unique algorithms based on Vladimir Vapnik’s theory. KXEN’s technology is particularly useful for a first pass of the data – especially for data with hundreds of fields – to quickly get an understanding of what's important in the data.”
Roger Haddad, KXEN chief executive officer says, “KXEN is a complementary technology to Clementine and the other Clementine Plus Partners. Our software enables non-technical users to process and model data very quickly and to use that information to make informed business decisions. This frees up technical staff resources for more demanding, in-depth analysis.”
The partner program is built around the Clementine External Module Interface (CEMI) feature, which allows users to add their own programs, such as data-processing routines or modeling algorithms, to Clementine. As a result, data mining, data processing and data visualization tools can be fully integrated into Clementine’s market-leading interface.
