Prerequisites
No prerequisites or previous experience with SPSS is necessary, although experience with running software in a Windows environment and a basic understanding of purpose and functions of the software is helpful.

Overview of the main features of SPSS for Windows
Help and output navigation
Entering data directly into SPSS data editor
Opening spreadsheet, database and ASCII files
Defining variables and labels for your data
Assigning missing value codes for categories to be excluded from analysis
Appropriate ways of summarising data for individual variables
Computing new variables and recoding data values
Creating and using pivot tables
Producing and editing charts: pie charts, bar charts and scatterplots
