Habaca are Irelands leading Data mining consultants with clients in Manufacturing, Utilities, Telecommunications, Banking, Insurance and Government. We are a sister company to SPSS Ireland and use leading edge software to provide analytical solutions to Irelands largest corporations and Government Bodies. 

Habaca are looking for a Data Mining Consultant with analytical expertise to help answer the many different business questions that our customers have. In this position, the consultant will be involved in a wide range of activities including but not limited to customer segmenation, data mining, marketing analysis, business planning and forecasting. The analyst will help produce powerful Business Intelligence for investigating business problems and presenting solutions to management.

The ideal candidate will have some or all of the following:

  • Numerical Degree with exposure to SAS, SPSS or similar
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to use English as a working language
  • Flexibilty to work on own initative and as part of a team
  • Experience in project co-ordination and planning and able to handle a number of projects simultaneously
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Knowledge in some or all of the following - Data Mining, Statistical Analysis, Visual Basic Programming, Database Management (eg Oracle, SQL Server) and MS Windows and Office Software

SPSS Trainer

SPSS Ireland is looking to employ a trainer to join its experienced and expanding Services team.  This enthusiastic self-starter will deliver training services to SPSS Ireland customers in the use of SPSS and related products, and also possess an aptitude for learning new products.  This is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in gaining experience in a fast-paced training environment and taking on increasing responsibility in driving and defining learning programs.

Main Roles & Responsibilities: Candidate would be required to conduct training courses in the full range of the SPSS analytical suite of software, survey methodology and statistical analysis.  This will include delivering courses at various levels in a professional manner, managing course preparations, interacting with customers, trainers, and sales representatives, marketing, technical experts, and completing special projects as assigned.

  • Perform training services to fulfil Public Training schedule and meet revenue targets

  • Ability to translate technical information for non-technical audience

  • Continually assess and feed back ideas regarding new courses or mechanisms for improvement to existing training courses and training facilities to team.

  • Keep Sales team informed of customer needs/requirements

  • Assist with the determination of customer needs and provide both advice and expertise regarding course content, most appropriate course and course requirements

  • Assist in the development of On-Site Training Agreement, when required

  • Proactively support Sales

  • Assist with Course Development when required

  • Monitor and maintain customer satisfaction

  • You will be required to travel to customer site to scope opportunity or for fulfilment of private training work

  • Assist in other Professional Services-related engagements

  • Attend pre-specified training/services meetings

  • Ensure that current training engagements are being attended to while out of the office

  • Work with Professional Services and Sales to develop collateral for Training i.e. Course material, Marketing collateral

  • Provision of SPSS Technical Support

Qualifications:

  • Degree in any of the following disciplines: Statistics/Economics or other highly numerate degree.

  • Masters preferable.

  • Background in research and statistical analysis an asset.

Salary: neg.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Must have strong analytical skills, including critical thinking abilities and the ability to work independently.
  • 1 – 2 years experience in a research/analytical role using SPSS software or equivalent analysis tool
  • Experience in training/teaching/giving presentations is an advantage
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Must be computer literate - experience with common business applications, specifically Microsoft Office essential
  • Familiarity with SPSS products a plus.
  • Experience in project co-ordination and planning, and the
    ability to handle a number of projects simultaneously.
  • Flexibility to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented and able to anticipate additional needs/requirements.
  • Excellent inter-personal, organisational and time-management skills
  • Enthusiastic, hard-working and willing to learn.
  • Must be proactive, flexible, creative, and focused on continuous learning and self-improvement.
