Position Summary:

SPSS Inc is seeking a Senior Consultant within the German Services & Solutions team. As a Senior Consultant your primary responsibility will be to assist SPSS’ customers, both in Germany and abroad, to achieve successful implementations of the SPSS Predictive Analytics Solution. You will be proficient in delivering consulting services in more than one product line.

As a Senior Consultant you will have domain understanding and will be able to work with current technical approaches as well as various solutions of SPSS products and applications within the domain. We are looking for an individual who can help build ROI and identify cross-sell / up-sell opportunities for the product lines.

The position ideally requires a background in analytical software with a track record of successful implementations and a strong commercial acumen. In addition, the ability to define Solutions and ensure their successful implementation is required.

Essential Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality consulting services in more than one product line
Understand customer business problems and SPSS capabilities in order to recommend additional SPSS products or applications
Match customer’s requirements to SPSS solutions
Work with various solutions of SPSS products and applications within customer’s domain
Produce Project Summaries for large-scale projects
Assist Project Managers in the determination of customer needs
Work closely with Sales, assisting in closing solution sales through either phone conferences or on-site visits
Travel to customer site to evaluate opportunity or to perform fulfillment of work
Ensure personal utilization targets are met.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following skills / experience:

A degree in Applied Statistics, Data Mining or that containing a strong quantitative component, or equivalent work experience
4-7 years working in a similar role and customer facing environment with a software or consulting services provider
Native-level German and a very good command of the English language
Experience with projects that involve integrating multiple technologies and datasets to solve a business problem
Experience using at least 1 of the following: BI Reporting tool, multidimensional database product, statistical modeling tool, data mining tool, market research tool
Ideally, skills associated with any of the main SPSS product lines or applications, namely: SPSS Statistics Base, PASW Modeler, PASW Data Collection, Collaboration and Deployment Services.

Additional Skills / experience:

Good problem solver with strong business acumen
Very strong customer service orientation
Excellent communicator, including cross-cultural
Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
Ability to convince a customer of technology decisions
Understanding of real-time operating systems an advantage
Highly self-motivated and directed
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

Working Conditions:

Travel is required, approx. 80% of the working time, including travel abroad.
