Becoming a Predictive Enterprise: Highlights of the SPSS Directions 2006 European User Conference
The first SPSS Directions European User Conference was held May 21-24, at the Princesa Sofia Gran Hotel in Barcelona, Spain, with more than 400 delegates attending from around the world. By all accounts the conference was a huge success! Keynote speakers included mountaineer David Breashears, Professor Richard D. DeVeaux, and SPSS CEO Jack Noonan. Noonan shared his vision on becoming a Predictive Enterprise, and outlined how organizations can analyze customer behavior to more accurately anticipate customers’ future needs.

Czech Television and SC&C boost accuracy of exit polls  
Czech Television partnered with SC&C, a well-known research and data analysis company, to run the exit polls for the early June parliamentary elections in the Czech Republic. Once again, SC&C used SPSS software to boost the accuracy of its exit polls. For the 2003 European Union referendum, Czech Television and SC&C relied on SPSS’ statistical and data mining software to systematically collect and analyze data in real time, enabling Czech Television to broadcast timely and accurate reports of referendum results.
