2006 Insight Awards™ Winners announced at SPSS Directions North American User Conference
SPSS announced the winners of its third annual Insight Awards on November 6 at the SPSS Directions North American User Conference, where hundreds of customers gathered with analysts and journalists in the Imperial Ballroom at the Fairmont Chicago. The Insight Awards recognize SPSS customers who have significantly contributed to their organizations’ success through the use of SPSS predictive analytics software. Overall, winners were evaluated on seven criteria, including business impact, productivity improvements, magnitude of change, breadth or depth of analytics used, innovation, service improvements, and lessons learned. This year SPSS recognized five outstanding organizations.

LogicaCMG named SPSS Partner of the Year
On November 6, LogicaCMG was named SPSS Partner of the Year at the SPSS Directions North American User Conference. LogicaCMG helped SPSS close and implement a large business deal with a major telecommunications company in Europe, and the customer has enjoyed a measurable return on that investment. Other SPSS partners receiving honors at the conference included HP, Oracle, Information Builders, and CGI.

Banca Lombarda checks its credit risk through Basel II compliance
Gruppo Banca Lombarda, one of Italy’s top 10 banking groups, turned to SPSS and IBM to help implement the transition to an internal ratings-based (IRB) approach for evaluating credit risk as part of Basel II compliance guidelines. Banca Lombarda selected Clementine®, SPSS’ enterprise data mining workbench, to analyze its customer information and build the credit risk analysis algorithms and tools that could be run against a multi-bank credit data warehouse.
