Course description:

Dimensions has two methodologies for conducting analysis of survey data - desktop or browser based. Dimensions Survey Analysis covers the use of Dimensions Desktop Reporter in its Desktop operation. This course will take the complete novice and turn them into a self-sufficient user of pretty much most of the tools available. After starting off building simple tabular reports, the attendee quickly moves on to learn how to build tables of increasing complexity and specificity using different question types, statistical summaries, filters, weights and display rules. The attendee will learn how to manage the output, how to format and annotate the output and how to export to common Microsoft Office applications.

Researchers using Dimensions Desktop Reporter for analyzing survey data (either collected through Dimensions or existing data from a non-Dimensions survey)
Data Processing staff required to prepare and produce Dimensions Desktop Reporter documents for end users

Prerequisite(s):

A reasonable grasp of survey question types and previous analysis experience are a great help to attendees.

Course Content:

Opening different sources of survey data (live surveys, existing survey data in different data formats)
Saving and organizing your analysis
Specifying the rows and columns of tables including nesting and appending of questions
Creating alternative analysis “views” of your survey questions using the variable editing features
Defining different statistical and numeric summaries in the table cells
Managing organizing collections of tables and charts
Conducting Statistical Testing
Creating Profiles and exporting data
Customizing the reports
Exporting the analysis to common Microsoft Office applications
Managing analysis documents for other analysts
