Jason Burke

Jason has been with SPSS for over eight years in various roles, most notably as the senior systems engineer. During this time, he has advised many organisations on the business and technology steps required to integrate data mining, predictive and other emerging analytic technologies into their organisation.

Transferring his knowledge of Predictive Analytics, Jason has assisted many SPSS customers in such areas as customer attrition, reducing bad debt expense and non-compliance detection & reduction, whilst regularly engaged in hosting seminars and training courses on these topics.

Karen Hardie

Karen is based in Sydney and is Product Manager for several of the Market Research products within SPSS. Karen also conducts training for the Dimensions products, assists in writing the training manuals and in beta testing new releases.

Karen worked for Surveycraft for 4 years prior to the company being acquired by SPSS in 1998 and has worked in the market research industry for over 20 years. Her background has been on both sides of the research process, originally working as a Market Research Manager for a large bank and then as a Research Executive for a large Market Research Agency. For the past 16 years Karen has been involved in the Data Processing area, including helping set up the first CATI facility in Australia (using Quancept). Karen’s other responsibility within SPSS is as a Sales Engineer, supporting the MR Sales Team in Pac Rim.

Senior Consultant – Matthew Beauregard

Senior Consultant Matthew Beauregard has six years' experience in predictive modeling, knowledge discovery, systems analysis, and business applications development.  He specialises in customer analytics, using predictive analytics and data mining to unlock opportunities for profitable customer acquisition, retention, and risk management.  He has worked across the telecommunications, financial services, retail, and Government sectors, and has lectured and tutored in data mining and artificial intelligence at the University of Technology, Sydney, since 2003.

Peter Berry joins SPSS in Melbourne as Sales Engineer with responsibility for pre-sales support to the organisation’s account executives.  Previously employed as a Data Mining and Marketing Consultant at BUPA Australia, one of Australia’s largest health funds, Peter has 14 years’ experience in direct marketing.  He was formerly Managing Director and co-founder of Direct Response Australia, a database and direct mail company, where he built and managed online data management and inventory management solutions for organisations including Honda, Isuzu, Shiseido and Telstra Mobilenet.

Peter has Bachelor of Science degrees from Monash University and Melbourne University and holds a Graduate Diploma in Marketing from Monash University.

Douglas Robert Porton
Biography

Summary of Experience

Mr. Douglas Robert Porton brings to SPSS over 14 years of experience in the Market Research world, systems and consulting areas.  He joined SPSS in 2000 and is currently working as a Solutions Architect.  In both past and present positions, Mr. Porton has successfully helped numerous clients solve their business problems through successful implementation of  the dimensions software products.  Prior to joining SPSS, Mr. Porton worked in Systems and Developing positions at IPSOS RSL.

Consulting and Instructional Background

Mr. Porton has extensive experience in bridging the gaps that appear when you try and get two applications to work together.  At SPSS, he has worked in support gaining a good understanding  of the SPSS products and how the customers use them, with this knowledge and his training skill’s he has been training Australia Support in the use of the dimensions products and preparing the ground for when Dimension’s hits the pacific rim.

Mr. Porton holds numerous O’level grade qualifications as well as a BTEC National Diploma in Computer Studies. He has been on several external training courses, such as Foxpro for Windows, C++, C Programming, MS Access, MS SQL Server 7, MS Visual Basic, Train the Trainer, Windows 2000 Network and Operating System Essentials and most recently Microsoft Visual Basic .Net
