Quanvert Database Access and Maintenance

It is simple to access a database in Quanvert. In addition, Quanvert provides various ways to maintain and manage databases.

Database lists
Different databases can be selected from within one Quanvert session. A simple menu option allows you to select databases from anywhere on your drive, or indeed from any drives available on a network. A large bank of surveys can be made available for selection and a Windows browse facility allows you to locate new databases, which Quanvert can detect automatically. You just select your survey and start your analysis within seconds.

Quanvert makes it easy for you to select from your databases, by allowing you to sort the list of projects by name, description or path. Quanvert also has a find facility, which is useful when you have many Quanvert databases.

Deleting a database
You can delete databases from your disk or network, or just the database entry in your project list, from within Quanvert.

Managing variables
Quanvert also provides a set of commands for managing the variables that make up a project: these include commands for renaming variables, deleting variables from a project, and adding new variables. When adding new variables, you can either create them directly from a table spec or import data and definitions from an external file.

Create a variable listing
Quanvert has a facility which allows you to create a file containing a list of all the variables in your database. The list will detail the variable type, name and description. This feature is particularly useful for databases with many variables. You can print this list directly from Quanvert, store it for reference or import it into another package, such as Word.

Logging Quanvert usage
Quanvert is able to generate a log file of who has used the software, which version, and the time and date at which the user started a session, which is particularly useful if many people use Quanvert over a network.
